His team’s focus is developing quality medical news resources for mainstream media, and using social media applications to create more in-depth, extended relationships directly with key stakeholders. Speaker Profile: Susannah Fox of Pew Internet Research

Susannah Fox leads the Pew Internet & American Life Project’s health research and oversees the Project’s digital strategy. Some of her recent reports include: The Social Life of Health Information; Twitter and status updating; and Generations Online in 2009.

Susannah is the former editor of the website for U.S. News & World Report magazine. She has also worked as a researcher for RealNetworks and for The Harwood Group. Susannah graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in anthropology.

Susannah contributes to “e-patients.net”, a multi-author blog about health and health care. She will help set the stage at e-Patient Connections 2009 in her talk about the social life of health information.

Speaker Profile: Jay Bernhart of the CDC

Dr. Jay Bernhardt is the Director of the National Center for Health Marketing at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia. The CDC Marketing Center is one of the newest National Centers at CDC and specializes in health marketing programs and services that are high-impact, science-based, and customer-centered.

Jay’s research and instruction have focused on health communication, social marketing, and media, with an emphasis on information technology, e-health, and strategic communication. He has published more than 30 articles in scholarly journals including the American Journal of Public Health, Journal of Health Communication, and the British Medical Journal.

Our conference agenda is all but nailed down, the materials are going to print, our giveaways are ordered, and we’re working on the last details.
